Try Grandma Gagne's Michigan Sauce Mix
Grandma Gagne History |
Grandma (Gonyea) Gagne, was born Della LaCroix, on July 15, 1885, in Valleyfield, Quebec. She married Eli Gagne, of Redford, New York, on July 8th, 1903 at St. Bernard's in Lyon Mountain. They lived in the Adirondacks, in a stone house at Pickett's Corners in Saranac, Clinton County, New York, in the first half of the 1900's. The home is no longer there but Pickett's Corners is. I recall visiting with her as a youngster and eating many different foods. My favorite was her Michigan Hot Dogs. The Original Michigan Sauce Mix below is based on a recipe I got from my Mother, Helen (Gonyea) Yasment, who got it from her mother, Grandma Gagne. Each 2oz package will make enough sauce for 16 to 30 Michigans depending on how much sauce you want to use. You can freeze the extra sauce for later use. I hope you enjoy this Original, New York North Country Michigan Sauce Mix, as much as I have over the years. Joe Yasment. Grandma Gagne's grandson. |
