Lewis County Chamber of Commerce
One highlight of Lewis County is the The Tug Hill Plateau, a winter enthusiast’s dream come true! The Plateau gets the most snowfall East of the Rockies with an average of 250+ inches a winter. Snowmobiling at its finest. Kite skiing events are growing on the plateau due to the abundance of wind and snow.
Lewis County is also home of the Maple Ridge Wind Farm, the largest wind farm east of the Mississippi.
In the summer months, visitors can enjoy mountain biking, ATV riding, canoeing, fishing, hiking, bird watching and golf, just to name a few. The summer is concluded with the 4th Annual Cream Cheese Festival, held Saturday, September 20, 2008. The festival is a street event, and includes food and art vendors, live music, and the largest cheesecake in the world!

Adirondack Architectural Heritage
Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) is the private, non-profit, historic preservation for New York State's Adirondack Park. AARCH's education mission is to promote better public understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of the region's distinct architecture, historic places, and special communities. AARCH fulfills its mission by sponsoring tours, workshops, public lectures, programs in the public schools, through publications, by offering technical assistance, via public-private partnerships, and through effective advocacy. AARCH is a membershiporganization with more than 1000 engaged and active members.
